Movie Stuff---8/04/10

Well, like I knew it would, Inception was amazing. Now there's more stuff coming out that seems interesting. Of course, this Friday is The Other Guys. Seems pretty good. September 10th is Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D, although I won't see it in 3D first. There's one called The American with George Clooney, I believe. I think it comes out in September. I saw a trailer today for a horror movie called Devil, which comes out late September. Although it says its "from the mind of M. Night Shymalan". Hmph. Right. OH! And it may seem cheesy, but Scott Pilgrim vs. The World might be okay. Later this year on December 17th, Disney reimagines Tron in Tron: Legacy. Now THAT I'll be seeing fo' sho'.

"Inception" Review

Christopher Nolan's epic new story takes place where no movie ever has before: in dreams. Leonardo DiCaprio plays Cobb, whose job is to plant an idea into someone's mind, and make them believe that they thought of the idea, rather than someone else. He hires a crew to assist him, some portrayed by Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Ken Watanabe. The whole movie is pretty trippy, frequently switching between levels of dream states, showing the various progression of time in each. Not to mention the effects! Wow! Zero-gravity, slo-mo in action sequences! It's crazy! All together, the movie is definitely the best one made in years since The Departed (2006), which also starred DiCaprio. I have to give Inception 4 STARS!

Oh, and the soundtrack (composed by Hans Zimmer) is even better than the one for Angels & Demons (2009).

Movie Stuff----7/15/10

Well, I've been waiting almost a year, and it's finally here: Inception. Christopher Nolan's epic masterpiece opens tomorrow and I plan on being there. It looks mind-blowing in every way imaginable. I cannot even begin to fathom what epicness lies within its 2 and a half hour stretch! It's going to be awesome. Also coming out soon is The Other Guys, a new comedy starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. It looks like it should be pretty hilarious. The PG-13 rating has me worried, though. It doesn't look as if it's going to be as raunchy as I had originally thought. We'll just have to see. AND........ the amazing movie Kick-Ass is coming to DVD on August 3rd. Oh, boy! That was definitely the best movie so far of 2010. Inception could pull ahead, though....

My First Little Blog

Well, this is the first blog on my little blog, so I suppose I'll write a little bio. My name is Andrew, and I live in Lakeland, Florida. I am 16 years old and currently attend Tenoroc High School and will be a senior next year. My sister is 18 years old and is in the same grade as me. What a pity. I am in TV Production, the band, and the Step Team. I plan on attending New York University to become a film director. I have 2 cats, Acorn and Oreo. Um... I suppose that I is pretty much it for now.
